I think if you want that many windows on the second floor, just do a garrison Colonial and be done with it.

yeah, half the floor space upstairs is  basically unusable with all the skinny little dormers...  And better have a roof guy on call to fix leaks with all those joints and corners.

That would have looked better and been more useful. From the walk through link McMike posted, I can’t tell if they even use that space. They certainly have so much of it that they wouldn’t need to.

Seriously, though, I always saw dormers as an excessively complex way to pretend you had a real extra level on the house, but didn’t. But you still did all the framing and work to have it.

Well, the interior is pretty nice. I guess the goal here was to build a mansion, but to try to  d isguise it to look like an ordinary, quaint Cape Cod. Sort of like how a lot of newer Walmarts are sort of built to suggest a street of separate buildings.
